Tape Drive CLEAR
The T/D CLEAR product is just that, a see through laminate with a Polyester reinforcing scrim.
The tapes are woven fiberglass and follow a load path from each corner to the opposite edge
of the sail. T/D CLEAR is perfect for small Keelboats up to 25'. This is a nice step up
from Dacron for the club racer.
Tape Drive SILVER
T/D SILVER is intended for the customer who wants a sail that's lighter and stronger then Dacron.
The base cloth features a more extensive polyester scrim than the CLEAR. The tapes are either
Glass or Pentex. The SILVER is used in both Race and Cruise applications for boats up to 30'.
Tape Drive GOLD
T/D GOLD is for the serious racer. These sails are designed and built to provide top end
performance for boats of all sizes. The base material is Kevlar or Twaron reinforced for weight
saving. The Tapes are Kevlar. These sails have a distinctive gold look on the racecourse.
Tape Drive DIAMOND
T/D DIAMOND uses Carbon tapes developed exclusively by UK-Halsey Sailmakers. Diamond sails are
available for both the performance cruiser and the all out racing fanatic.
Cruise: The base cloth is a Polyester reinforced laminate, which generally includes a taffeta
for improved durability. Combined with the U.V. impervious Carbon tapes this has proven a
very effective and popular option for performance minded cruisers. Boats up to 35'
Race: UK-Halsey started developing Carbon for tape drive sails 5 years ago. Carbon has the benefit
of not degrading due to U.V. exposure. We've built hundreds of sails and the results are
impressive. T/D DIAMOND offers the performance and look to get boats of all sizes into the
winners' circle.
Tape Drive PLATINUM
T/D PLATINIUM is intended for the uncompromising boat owner who accepts only the very best.
The spectra reinforced base material includes a taffeta for durability and the Carbon tapes
provide maximum shape holding characteristics and longevity. PLATINUM is available for boats
35' and up.
ULTRA F.S.T
F.S.T. is our highest end product intended for the racing sailor who wants the best continuous tape product on the market.
